The modern luxury Taomia Sina Island Resort near Apia’s central business district is being expanded and will soon complete an exciting development project that will add more villas to the resort.
According to general manager Tuiataga Nathan Bucknall, the new development includes 12 independent three-bedroom villas with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.
Compared with part of the original building, the area of the new villa is larger. All rooms are located by the main entrance on the mainland, directly facing Taomisina Island.
Due to the absence of international tourists due to Covid, Tuitaga admits this is a very challenging time.
The resort remained open throughout the pandemic and retained 40% of its employees. The general manager attributed these achievements to the resort’s shareholders and the domestic market.
After the completion of the new development, Taumeasina will provide accommodation, including 184 rooms, distributed in the hotel wing and well-equipped two- and three-bedroom villas.
This expansion is planned before the pandemic and puts the resort in a good position to meet some of the pent-up demand in Samoa’s main markets, New Zealand, Australia and American Samoa, when international travel restarts.
As part of promoting travel preparations, Tuitaga shared that Taumeasina is the country's first fully vaccinated resort. He further emphasized the importance of vaccination and encouraged the eligible population of Samoa to be vaccinated to ensure safety.
